I’m not talking about wearing your pants backward or sleeping upside down. I’m talking about the discomfort inside — the kind that comes from growth. Growth always means stepping outside the cozy bubble of your comfort zone. To truly move forward, you need to feel that challenge most of the time when you’re awake. No book, seminar, training, or university lesson can really stick in a mind that clings to the well-worn comfort chair — that familiar safe place we all love.

Here’s a good sign you’re on the right track: if you often feel like you’re doing things beyond your strength, beyond what you thought you could handle — that means you’re growing. You’re pushing your limits. The amazing part? Eventually, those things you once thought impossible become part of your comfort zone. You grow so much that what once stretched you now feels natural.

Why is this such good news? Because this “can do” mindset has no limits. At first, stepping outside the comfort zone seems daunting, nearly impossible. But you keep going, keep pushing. What once seemed out of reach becomes your new normal. It’s the same with anything you might believe is impossible. Take flying, for example — no one really knows if it’s totally impossible. If there are stories of levitation, then flying might just be waiting for us to discover how.

I’m not saying we all need to fly — though I’d love to. But habits like exercising every day? That’s real and within reach. And so much more is possible.

You can accomplish incredible things, even those that once felt impossible. The key? Believe that the impossible can become possible. And always, always be willing to step beyond your comfort zone.
