Transformation doesn’t begin with a new habit, a breakthrough, or even a life crisis. It begins with a decision. A clear, conscious choice to move from one inner state to another. Without it, even the most compelling external shifts are temporary.
You know that feeling when you look back on something and think, “What was I thinking?” We’ve all had that moment. But here’s the truth: the choice you made was always the best choice for you at that moment. Even if it doesn’t feel that way now.
Over the past month, I engaged in scheduled therapy sessions. This wasn’t just about recent events. The therapist I worked with specializes in early childhood trauma, and from the beginning, her insights helped surface patterns I had long suspected but never quite understood. It became clear that what I was facing wasn’t just situational stress—it was the activation of a survival mechanism built in childhood.
In a healthy, integrated mind, there’s a powerful force at the center of it all—the Observer. This compassionate and wise part of ourselves plays the role of the true guide in our lives, helping us understand the world around us without attaching too much meaning to the ups and downs of our daily experiences.

Reality slowly begins to nudge us, showing that what surrounds us is merely a reflection of what is inside us.
For quite a long time, one inconsistency with my understanding of the world troubled me, which I noticed in the original film Planet of the Apes. One of the astronauts, captured by the apes during the hunt, George Taylor, retained consciousness, while the other astronaut very quickly lost his human face and began to behave like the other people of that society – like an animal.
You know how it goes: you read something, you think you understand it, you intellectually grasp it, like, for example, that childhood traumas can affect us throughout our lives, you see how it works, but it doesn’t quite sink in completely, it doesn’t become part of your foundational knowledge, your understanding of life.
I had two beliefs, each of which seemed very logical to me. Both were confirmed by my life experience and other less significant understandings of the world. But they didn’t seem to work together; there was no logic in their connection. I was torn between these two beliefs, periodically switching from one to the other, not fully aware of this process.
Unfortunately, it's almost impossible to give universal advice regarding dieting. To offer somewhat workable advice, I need to know some information about the person. But here are some general tips on how to behave while traveling, assuming you know which foods help you lose weight and which ones cause weight gain.
